The victim had been referred from District Hospital Kishtwar to a hospital in Doda for medical treatment linked to pregnancy termination. However, her condition deteriorated during the ambulance journey, and she passed away en route. Following her death, police arrested a government school teacher allegedly involved in the case, while the education department moved swiftly to place him under immediate suspension.
Minor Girl Dies During Medical Transit from Kishtwar to Doda
According to available details of the case, the deceased minor was a resident of the Chatroo area in Kishtwar district. She was reportedly pregnant and had initially been admitted to District Hospital Kishtwar for specialized medical care and pregnancy termination procedures. Owing to the complexity of the medical situation, attending doctors decided to transfer her to the Doda hospital. Tragically, she breathed her last while being transported to Doda, triggering immediate outrage and initiating formal law enforcement proceedings.

Upon confirmation of the girl's demise, Kishtwar Police registered a formal FIR and subsequently arrested the accused government teacher, identified as Khalid Hussain Sheikh. The Chief Education Officer of Kishtwar issued an official order placing Khalid Hussain Sheikh under immediate suspension. The accused was identified as Nasir Majeed, a resident of Chellar village, who was associated with Madrasa Dar-ul-Quran operating in the Gandoh area.
