A 60-year-old resident of Ranchi, Kashish, has embarked on an ambitious second career after stepping down from her school teaching post last year. For 18 consecutive years, she worked in the classroom teaching physics to school students. Her decision to move on came from a dual motivation: she wanted more time to look after her children and family while also building an independent enterprise of her own. With a longstanding personal fascination for ornaments, she chose to channel her creative energy into jewellery design.
Blending Dubai Gold Elegance with Indian Heritage Crafts
A central part of her work revolves around crafting designs inspired by Dubai's celebrated gold jewellery, which she conceives and gets manufactured through skilled artisans. Alongside these foreign styles, she creates traditional Indian pieces, specifically southern temple-style designs and bead-special arrangements. Kashish designs and crafts many of these pieces herself, turning to professional craftsmen whenever specialized bench work is required. Within just a few months of launching, her startup venture has gained steady commercial momentum.
Curating Regional Designs Through Nationwide Exploration
To keep her portfolio varied, Kashish travels extensively across different parts of India, handpicking distinctive ornaments native to each region. Whenever she feels a conventional look can be enhanced with an original touch, she adapts the piece with her own artistic concepts or develops completely unique prototypes. Among all the regional collections she offers, the South Indian temple style has emerged as a major hit among her buyers.
Catering to Everyday Admiration for Fine Ornaments
Speaking about consumer interest, Kashish observed that jewellery remains an enduring weakness for women, regardless of whether someone already owns 50 different pieces. Recognizing that stepping out often sparks an urge to find something new, she aimed to bring premier jewellery concepts from across India and abroad under a single roof. This includes Dubai-style gold aesthetics such as lattice mesh patterns, tasselled jhalar elements, and mask-style gold pieces, which many prospective buyers only ever encounter in social media video feeds.
From Physics Lectures to Pan-India Commercial Shipments
Transitioning away from academia has brought fresh vitality to her routine, with Kashish describing her second innings as immensely rewarding. After spending nearly two decades explaining physical principles to students, she felt the time was right to turn her childhood love for ornamentation into an active livelihood. The digital marketplace has responded warmly, generating around 10 jewellery orders each day, which she packages and dispatches across India from her base in Jharkhand.
