To execute the scheduled pre-non-interlocking phase between September 24, 2026, and September 27, 2026, authorities have rerouted several long-distance passenger services that typically run through Dhanbad Junction. Official operational notifications detailing the temporary adjustments have been circulated by the division to keep travellers informed.
Specific Train Services Shifted to Alternate Alignments
The diversions affect key inter-state express lines connecting major urban hubs such as Kolkata, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Jammu Tawi. Depending on travel dates, services will navigate secondary junctions including Madhupur, Kiul, Nawada, and Gaya instead of their customary route.

- Kolkata to Jammu Tawi Express (Train 13151): Scheduled to run on September 24, 25, 26, and 27, 2026, this train will skip its regular corridor to move via Sitarampur, Madhupur Junction, Maheshmunda, Koderma Junction, Gaya Junction, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
- Sealdah to Ajmer Express (Train 12987): On September 24, 25, and 26, 2026, the service will pass through Sitarampur, Madhupur, Maheshmunda, Koderma, Gaya, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
- Ajmer to Sealdah Express (Train 12988): Operating on September 24, 25, and 26, 2026, this return train has been routed via Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Gaya, Koderma, Maheshmunda, Madhupur, and Sitarampur.
