As part of an escalating crackdown on organised crime in Jharkhand, law enforcement agencies have identified two prominent underworld figures as major threats to public security. Global police cooperation agency Interpol has now issued Red Corner Notices against Rahul Singh and Rahul Dubey, two wanted criminals involved in running extortion networks and terrorising the local business community. In illicit circles, the syndicate operated by the duo has gained widespread notoriety as the ‘Two R’ gang.
Jharkhand ATS Shares Evidence Leading to Global Red Corner Notice
Following earlier criminal syndicates led by Aman Sahu, Aman Singh, and Sujit Sinha, the duo of Rahul Singh and Rahul Dubey has emerged as the latest leadership driving extortion cartels across Jharkhand. In response to their expanding operations, the Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad gathered comprehensive dossiers and critical evidence detailing their unlawful acts.
These case files were initially shared with national central authorities, following which the CBI forwarded the verified evidence to Interpol. This systematic administrative coordination ultimately led to the issuance of the Red Corner Notices, paving the way for international tracking and extradition proceedings against both fugitives.
Arrests and Encounters Fail to Deter Syndicates Completely
Local police units have launched sustained offensives targeting both networks. Numerous operatives belonging to the Rahul Singh and Rahul Dubey gangs have been arrested and sent to judicial custody over recent months. During specific tactical interventions, armed encounters occurred between law enforcement personnel and gang members, leaving several suspects wounded by gunfire. Despite these decisive steps, completely dismantling their operational capabilities has remained difficult.
Jharkhand Police IG Operations Narendra Kumar Singh stated that targeted actions against operatives linked to both groups remain actively underway. He noted that Superintendents of Police across all districts will receive specific directives to fast-track trials by identifying and prioritizing these cases in court. Accelerating the legal process aims to secure rapid convictions, directly curbing repeat offences and dismantling the remaining influence of the syndicates.
Youth Recruited Through Social Media With Cash Temptations
The threat presented by these syndicates extends well beyond standard extortion phone calls and physical threats, having migrated heavily onto digital channels. Gang leaders are systematically weaponising social platforms to recruit young individuals into their illicit apparatus.
Ranchi City SP Paras Rana revealed that handlers lure impressionable youngsters by offering them quick monetary sums ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 rupees to carry out targeted assignments. These networks establish fake social media handles to conceal their true identities. Handlers initiate contact primarily through applications such as Snapchat and Instagram, drawing adolescents into serious offences through financial incentives.
Operating Under a Ruthless ‘Use and Throw’ Playbook
Young recruits drawn into these criminal acts face severe exploitation. Gang handlers treat these recruits strictly on a ‘use and throw’ basis, deploying them for hazardous tasks and immediately abandoning them once an offence is committed. While the behind-the-scenes organizers insulate themselves, the hired youth are left to face the full brunt of law enforcement, resulting in long-term damage to their legal and personal lives.
Ranchi Police have heightened vigilance around these digital recruitment pipelines. The City SP has urged young people and families to exercise caution and avoid interacting with suspicious online accounts offering easy money. Falling for small financial rewards exposes youngsters to life-altering criminal liabilities and permanently ruins their prospects.
A Dual Challenge Facing Law Enforcement
Security forces and investigative bodies continue their aggressive drive to neutralize organised crime across the region. Securing Interpol Red Corner Notices against Rahul Singh and Rahul Dubey marks an essential milestone in curtailing their cross-border maneuverability, yet completely extinguishing the gang infrastructure on the ground presents an ongoing test.
The greatest immediate concern remains the unchecked recruitment of youth via internet platforms. For investigative agencies, bringing these primary ringleaders to justice must now go hand-in-hand with implementing robust community safeguards to prevent vulnerable young citizens from falling prey to organised crime cartels.
