A Savior for Lost Keys in Koderma
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, losing the keys to your motorcycle, scooter, or home lock can bring your entire schedule to a grinding halt. Finding a quick solution in such stressful moments is often a major challenge. However, for the residents of Koderma, Sanjay Kumar has been providing a reliable solution for the past 20 years. Operating from his spot at Jhanda Chowk, this skilled artisan relies on traditional craftsmanship and decades of experience to resolve these lock and key dilemmas. Sanjay told TrendKia that he inherited this valuable craft from his father. Through years of practice and precision, he has mastered the art of creating duplicate keys even when the original is entirely missing.
The Art of Crafting a Key Without the Original
Sanjay explained that creating a key from scratch without an original requires high technical understanding and patience. The process begins with selecting a raw, blank key that matches the lock's shape, thickness, and specific metal profile. This blank key is then inserted into the lock, and gentle pressure is applied using pliers to turn it.
During this step, the internal pins of the lock press against the blank key, leaving tiny, faint impressions on its metallic surface. Sanjay carefully analyzes these markings and uses a specialized hand file tool to shave down the metal bit by bit. This trial-and-error process is repeated multiple times until the newly carved key perfectly aligns with the internal mechanism of the lock. The entire process is remarkably swift, taking only 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
Affordable Pricing and Emergency Doorstep Services
To assist people during critical situations, such as when they are locked out of their homes or commercial shops, Sanjay offers emergency doorstep services. He travels directly to the customer's location to open locks and create duplicate keys on-site. For this convenient home service, he charges an additional fee of Rs 100 over the standard rate.
His standard pricing remains highly economical for the public. A duplicate key for two-wheelers is prepared for Rs 120, while duplicate keys for standard household locks are made for just Rs 100 per piece. Through his dedication and affordable services, Sanjay continues to keep a traditional craft alive while helping the community in times of distress.
