The recovery of empty shell casings at the crime scene immediately signaled a calculated homicide, yet despite extensive efforts, the police have not yet managed to apprehend the perpetrators.

Subsequent forensic analysis provided a grim picture of the assault. The post-mortem report confirmed that both victims were shot to death. Hemant and Shakuntala sustained gunshot wounds to the head, and in a further disturbing discovery, a bullet was found lodged in Shakuntala’s lower back. Hemant was a retired railway employee, and Shakuntala had served as a nurse before her retirement. The property they occupied is valued at approximately 2 crore rupees, adding a layer of concern regarding potential motives related to their assets.
CCTV Evidence and AI Tracking
During the course of the investigation, authorities conducted extensive interviews with family members and tenants. A significant breakthrough occurred when police reviewed CCTV footage, identifying two suspicious individuals wearing raincoats fleeing the scene. In response, DCP Rashmi Agarwal established a 12-member SIT to expedite the case. The police have officially released images and video footage of these suspects to aid in public identification.
