A tragic domestic argument over cooking dinner led to a devastating crime in Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh, destroying a family. The incident occurred in Deora village, located under the jurisdiction of the Jaisinghnagar police station. A son launched a brutal physical attack on his parents following a disagreement over who would prepare chicken. The father succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care, whereas the mother remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Argument Escalates Over Cooking Chicken
According to local authorities, the victim, Daua, had returned home after completing his daily labor work and was spending time with his wife Yashoda and son Anju. Wishing to share a good meal with his family, Daua handed 500 rupees to his son Anju and asked him to purchase chicken from the market. Anju bought the meat and returned home, but he firmly insisted on cooking the dish himself. His mother Yashoda objected to his demand, expressing concern that he might ruin the meal.
The mother's refusal triggered a heated altercation between Anju and Yashoda. As the argument intensified, the enraged son violently assaulted his mother. When Daua stepped in to protect his wife and diffuse the fight, Anju turned his aggression toward his father as well. Both parents suffered severe injuries during the violent onslaught.
Police Action and Offender Custody
Upon receiving information about the assault, a police team from Jaisinghnagar arrived at the scene. Emergency medical aid was arranged, and both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. Despite efforts by medical personnel, Daua passed away due to the severity of his wounds. Yashoda remains under intensive care, battling for survival.
Confirming the details of the crime, ACP Abhishek Diwan stated that a violent clash erupted over preparing chicken in Shahdol, where the son first attacked his mother and then turned on his father who intervened to save her. The father died during treatment at the hospital. Police have sent the deceased father's body for a post-mortem examination, registered a formal murder case against Anju, and taken him into custody for further legal proceedings.
