In a shocking display of audacity combined with severe police negligence, a drunk man stole an official police Bolero vehicle from a station in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district and went on a terrifying rampage through a busy weekly market. The chaotic incident left dozens of innocent shoppers injured and exposed critical security lapses at the local police station.
Ruckus and Negligence at the Police Station
The bizarre sequence of events unfolded at the Raipura police station. The accused, identified by authorities as Sukhendra Bundela, son of Ranmat Singh and a resident of the nearby Imaliya village, arrived at the station in a heavily inebriated state. According to multiple eyewitnesses who were present at the station to file their own applications, Bundela had initially come to lodge a complaint. However, his drunken condition quickly led to an altercation with the on-duty police personnel. After creating a significant and disruptive commotion inside the premises, the irritated officers forced him out of the building rather than detaining him for his behavior.
Once outside the main building, Bundela noticed an official police Bolero parked securely within the compound but, inexplicably, with its keys still left in the ignition. Seizing the astonishing opportunity provided by this lapse in protocol, the drunk youth got behind the wheel, started the engine, and sped away from the station before anyone could react. Locals later mentioned that the exact same individual had visited the police station in a similarly drunken and aggressive condition just a day earlier, raising questions about why he wasn't handled more strictly.

Because it was the designated market day, hundreds of local residents had gathered to shop for their daily necessities. By the time the out-of-control vehicle reached the Katni Tiraha intersection, dozens of bystanders had been struck down in the ensuing chaos.
The destruction peaked at Katni Tiraha, where the drunk driver rammed forcefully into a motorcycle. The violent impact threw the unfortunate rider far from the point of collision, while his motorcycle became wedged tightly underneath the police car's chassis. Completely undeterred by the massive friction and sparks, Bundela continued driving, dragging the trapped and scraping bike for a horrifying distance of approximately two hundred meters. Along his destructive escape path, he also collided heavily with a parked civilian car and a passenger bus before speeding off toward the Avantibai Chowk area.
Mob Fury and a Struggle for Lockup
The local police, now in frantic pursuit of their own stolen vehicle, finally managed to intercept and apprehend the dangerous driver near Avantibai Chowk. However, the situation remained highly volatile on the streets. An infuriated mob consisting of around one to two hundred outraged citizens quickly gathered at the spot, attempting to thrash the driver for the extensive destruction and injuries he had just caused. It took immense physical effort for the outnumbered police team to rescue the accused from the angry crowd and transport him back to the Raipura station.

The list of those officially admitted to the hospital for their severe injuries includes thirty-seven-year-old Ramesh Chaudhary and thirty-six-year-old Jalsa Bai, who are both residents of the Baghvar area.
