Police in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa zone have busted an alleged MD drug manufacturing unit in Bijhauli village under the Shahpur police station area of Mauganj district, seizing suspected MD drugs worth crores of rupees along with chemicals, acid, drug making equipment and a luxury four wheeler vehicle. Four people were arrested from the spot during the raid.
Raid Carried Out on a Tip Off
Officers acted on information from an informer and raided the village with a heavy police force. The entire operation was carried out under the direction of Rewa zone IG Gaurav Rajput, and led on the ground by Mauganj SP S.K. Jain and SDOP Sachi Pathak. The unit is believed to have been running for a while, with the accused reportedly keeping the operation tightly under wraps.
Suspected Supply Route Ran Through Rewa to Mumbai
Initial investigation suggests the MD drugs manufactured at the Bijhauli unit were being routed through Rewa and supplied onward to Mumbai. Police have clarified that the Mumbai supply link, the value of the seized contraband and other claims about the wider network are based on preliminary findings and will only be confirmed once the investigation is complete. Officers are now working to trace the full network, the supply chain and other people connected to the operation.
Team Praised, Rewards Promised
The state's police chief commended the operation and praised IG Gaurav Rajput, the Mauganj SP and the entire team involved. IG Rajput has said the police personnel who took part in the raid will be rewarded. The four arrested accused are being questioned, and further legal proceedings under the NDPS Act are underway.
Agar Malwa Drug Racket Now Draws In Police Officers Too
Separately, Madhya Pradesh's Agar Malwa police had earlier described a major anti drug operation as a big success. That raid, carried out in January 2026 in Ghatakhedi village under the Dag police station area of Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, later drew sharp questions from a court. Following the court's observations, an FIR has now been registered in Rajasthan against nearly 100 known and unknown people, including two station house officers from Madhya Pradesh. The case was filed at the Dag police station on Monday, after an order issued by the Chaumahla court on June 13. Those named in the FIR include Agar Kotwali SHO Shashi Upadhyay, Barod SHO Roop Singh, SI Rakhi Gurjar, ASI Ajay Jat, Rahul Vishwakarma, Constable Shubham and several others. Police officials have said the role of other accused persons will also be examined during the investigation.
