Couple Struck While Returning Home From Market
The tragic collision unfolded in the prominent Chetakpuri area of Gwalior city. Local resident Bhupendra Sukhija was returning home from the market on a scooter with his wife, Shivani. Spotting a stray cow standing along the road, the couple paused their journey and pulled over to offer fodder to the animal. As they stood beside their vehicle feeding the cow, a fast-approaching car lost control and slammed into them without warning.
Eyewitnesses reported that the car was traveling at an extremely high speed when the driver lost control of the steering wheel. The impact threw both Bhupendra and Shivani onto the pavement, inflicting severe trauma. Continuing its destructive trajectory, the sedan crashed through the front structure of a nearby retail shop. Panic-stricken individuals inside the shop managed to scramble out just in time to avoid being hit by the incoming vehicle, which caused substantial structural damage to the store front.
Wife Suffers 10 Fractures, Shifted to Delhi for Emergency Care
The sudden crash caused widespread panic, prompting onlookers and local residents to rush to the assistance of the injured couple. The Jhansi Road police station was immediately alerted, and a police team dispatched to the scene arranged urgent transportation for the victims to a nearby hospital in Gwalior. Doctors attending to the victims revealed that Shivani suffered catastrophic orthopedic injuries, including nearly 10 broken bones across her waist, arms, and legs.
