Following a fight with two young men, the attackers chased them into a nearby restaurant on Bangarsia Road and launched an assault, injuring the restaurant's chef and several others who tried to intervene. One of the injured youths was admitted to a hospital, while the rest were treated for their injuries.
A street fight that turned into a chase
According to available information, the trouble began as a clash on the road between two young men and a group of around 10 attackers. Feeling unsafe, the two youths ran for their lives and took shelter inside a nearby restaurant, hoping they would be safe there. However, the armed attackers followed them right inside the restaurant and cornered them. People present inside scattered in fear, but the attackers' aggression was such that they began targeting everyone in sight, not just the two men they had originally chased.
Chef and bystanders caught in the attack
Once inside the restaurant, the attackers did not limit their assault to the two youths. When the restaurant's chef and a few other people present tried to step in and separate the two sides, the attackers turned their swords and knives on them as well. As a result, the chef and several others sustained injuries during the attack. The assailants did not stop there, they also vandalised the restaurant before fleeing the scene, causing significant damage to the property. Everyone present was left visibly terrified by the entire episode.
