According to the official report generated by the Bhandup Master Control Center operating under the Hydraulic Engineer Department, the cumulative water storage across all seven major lakes has officially reached 54.05 percent. This figure was recorded at exactly 6:00 AM on July 20, 2026. The data highlights a highly encouraging upward trend, with the overall water reserves experiencing a solid increase of 1.66 percent within a single 24-hour window. When translated into sheer volume, the metropolis currently holds a substantial 7,82,370 million liters of water ready for distribution.
The Contrast from the Recent Water Crisis
This sudden abundance stands in stark contrast to the highly precarious scenario the city navigated merely weeks ago. Residents will vividly remember that Mumbai was recently grappling with a severe water crisis as reservoir levels had plummeted to alarming depths.
