Maharashtra Resident Nabbed With Ganja
On September 27, a dedicated team from the Narcotics and Affairs of Border Police Station conducted an operation in the North AOC area of Imphal West. During this raid, officers apprehended a 49-year-old man identified as Omprakash Anand Survana, son of Anand Survarna, who hails from Thane in Maharashtra. Authorities recovered approximately 3.5 kg of ganja directly from his possession. Further investigations are actively underway to uncover the wider network behind the transportation of the contraband, as detailed in an update shared by the Manipur Police.
Insurgent Cadre Apprehended in Imphal East
In a separate security action, Imphal East police detained an active member belonging to the banned outfit Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup. The arrest took place during a targeted search operation at Khurai Laishram Leikai, which falls under the jurisdiction of Porompat Police Station, on Sunday, September 27.
Details of the Accused Insurgent
The arrested individual was formally identified as 22-year-old Kangabam Roshan Singh, also known by his alias Korou. He is a resident of Khurai Laishram Leikai located in Imphal East. Law enforcement officials confirmed that Singh operated as an active cadre for the outlawed KYKL organization, prompting heightened vigilance across local jurisdictions.
Bishnupur Police Seize Fertilizer Bags
Meanwhile, authorities in Bishnupur intercepted vehicles allegedly involved in the unauthorized transportation of agricultural fertilizers, successfully seizing a total of 1,300 bags of urea across two distinct operations. Police confiscated 1,200 bags of urea on September 23, followed by an additional 100 bags on September 25. A formal inquiry has been initiated into the illicit movement of these supplies, and the District Agriculture Officer in Bishnupur has been formally requisitioned to verify the seized consignment and enforce necessary legal procedures.
