Shares of Hyderabad-based defence and aerospace technology provider Apollo Micro Systems Ltd witnessed buying interest on Thursday following the announcement of a key technological milestone. The company has secured the Transfer of Technology (ToT) for the Semi-Active Laser Homing System (SALHS). This strategic addition to its indigenous precision-guided defence systems portfolio immediately drew fresh investor attention toward the counter.
Intraday Stock Movement and Trading Session Details
During Thursday's trading session, Apollo Micro Systems shares were quoted at Rs 378 as of 2:37 pm on September 17, reflecting a gain of 2.07 percent or Rs 7.65 over the prior close. The counter commenced trading at Rs 371, touched a high of Rs 383 within the day, and maintained an intraday low of Rs 371, indicating consistent support at the opening valuation.
Technical Indicators and Price Consolidation Pattern
The stock has experienced notable price fluctuations over recent months. Sudeep Shah, Head of Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities, noted that Apollo Micro Systems has remained locked in a consolidation range between Rs 361 and Rs 467 since late May. Despite the extended consolidation, the stock has managed to trade comfortably above its 20-week exponential moving average, suggesting that the underlying broader trend continues to display resilience.
Shah identified the Rs 365 to Rs 370 price pocket as a critical immediate support zone for the stock. A decisive slide below this base could trigger intensified selling momentum. Meanwhile, the weekly relative strength index (RSI) continues to hover in a flat trajectory, signaling an ongoing sideways consolidation phase without clear directional breakout signals.
Operational Scope of the Laser Homing Technology
The primary catalyst behind the current market interest is the receipt of the technology transfer for SALHS. This precision-guidance system is engineered to steer munitions accurately toward targets designated by laser illumination.
By leveraging laser-based target detection and tracking capabilities, the system enhances the terminal accuracy of munitions mid-flight. For Apollo Micro Systems, integrating this specialized defence technology broadens its manufacturing scope for eligible military platforms, provided all platform integration and qualification parameters are met.
Vighana Mine Program and DRDO Production Partnership
Beyond the laser guidance system, Apollo Micro Systems plays an integral role in the Multi-Influence Ground Mine (MIGM) project, known as Vighana. The firm serves as an approved production partner under the DRDO Development-cum-Production Partner framework.
The MIGM initiative secured formal clearance from the Defence Acquisition Council in July 2026 and has subsequently progressed toward commercial production. Milestones of this scale carry substantial weight for the enterprise, as turning development-stage defence technologies into active production contracts provides sustained revenue visibility over the long term.
Financial Performance and Rising Balance Sheet Debt
The company demonstrated strong operational expansion throughout FY2026. Consolidated revenue from operations jumped to Rs 904.32 crore in FY2026, marking a considerable rise from Rs 562.07 crore reported in FY2025.
Consolidated profit after tax surged to Rs 107.38 crore from Rs 56.36 crore during the same comparative timeframe. On a standalone footing, annual revenue touched Rs 764.85 crore, while profit after tax advanced to Rs 120.58 crore compared to Rs 57.24 crore in the prior fiscal year. Operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) also improved sharply, reaching Rs 231.22 crore against Rs 133.27 crore earlier.
While the company's surging top-line and bottom-line figures underscore operational expansion, investors must balance this against rising leverage. Total balance sheet borrowings expanded to around Rs 485 crore as of March 31, 2026, up from approximately Rs 291 crore recorded twelve months prior. Looking forward, market participants will monitor whether the equity can hold the Rs 365 to Rs 370 support band identified by SBI Securities' Sudeep Shah and eventually break past its multi-month consolidation boundary.
