Navratna defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) announced its financial results for the first quarter of FY27 (Q1 FY27). The state-owned electronics manufacturer reported robust top-line and bottom-line growth alongside a substantial order pipeline. In addition to the earnings release, the company’s board of directors approved a strategic expansion of its authorized share capital structure.
Quarterly Financial Growth and Revenue Surge
During the first quarter of FY27, Bharat Electronics recorded a net profit of Rs 1,048.33 crore, representing an 8.17% growth compared to the Rs 969.13 crore net profit reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Revenue from operations also registered a significant gain, rising 25.27% to Rs 5,533.06 crore for the quarter, compared to Rs 4,416.83 crore posted in the same period a year earlier.
Order Book Status and Authorized Share Capital Increase
Demonstrating long-term business visibility, BEL held a total order book of Rs 72,258 crore as of July 1, 2026. On July 27th, the company outlined its roadmap to enhance its capital base to support future growth objectives.
At its board meeting on Monday, the directors gave formal approval to increase the authorized share capital to Rs 1,000 crore, consisting of 1,000 crore equity shares with a face value of Re 1 each. Prior to this decision, the PSU had an authorized share capital of Rs 750 crore, divided into 750 crore equity shares with a face value of Re 1 each.
Stock Market Performance and Valuation
Trading activity for BEL shares is expected to reflect these quarterly results on July 28th. On Monday, the heavyweight stock closed on the BSE at Rs 407.10 per share, marking a 0.51% increase. At this closing valuation, the overall market capitalization of Bharat Electronics reached Rs 2,97,581.10 crore.
