Shooters from Meghalaya's North Garo Hills district secured three medals at the 13th Northeast Zonal Shooting Championship 2026 held in Guwahati.

The North Garo Hills district of Meghalaya made a significant impact at the 13th Northeast Zonal Shooting Championship 2026 in Guwahati, with regional shooters claiming a total of three medals for the state.

Representing the Shooting Association of North Garo Hills, Anthony D. Marak and Rakku D. Momin delivered exceptional displays at the championship, capturing two gold medals and one bronze among them.

Marak secured the top position in the 10-metre pistol MQS event by posting a score of 370 out of 400 to clinch the gold medal. He subsequently added a bronze to his collection in the men’s 50-metre pistol event.

Shooting Association of North Garo Hills president Davis C.K. Sangma commended the two marksmen for their remarkable efforts, stating that their triumph underscored the vital role of discipline, dedication, and perseverance in the discipline.
