Several night super buses traveling along the route from Guwahati toward Mankachar came under a violent assault by an unidentified group in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district. The attack took place at Tikrikilla around midnight, when miscreants hurled stones at the moving transport vehicles, shattering their front windshields and sparking panic among travelers on the highway.

The stone-throwing incident occurred at approximately 2 am as multiple passenger buses were passing through the locality. Pelleted rocks struck the vehicles in rapid succession, resulting in severe damage to the front windshields of several buses. Several drivers sustained direct injuries from the impact and flying shards of broken glass during the assault.
Drivers Alert Tikrikilla Police as Attackers Flee
Despite their injuries and the sudden chaos, the affected drivers managed to steer their damaged vehicles away from the danger zone. They safely reached the Tikrikilla Police Station to formally alert officials about the highway ambush. Police personnel promptly rushed to the designated spot, but the attackers had already fled into the darkness before law enforcement could arrive.
