She placed the bag on the riverbank and gave a signal to another individual who was waiting nearby on a scooter.

The situation escalated when the duo noticed the approaching security personnel and attempted to flee the scene. While the woman managed to escape across the border towards Myanmar, her accomplice sped away rapidly on the scooter. The suspects left behind the green bag, which prompted a thorough search by the stationed troops.

Recovery and Handover of Narcotics

Upon inspecting the abandoned bag, the personnel discovered 250.21 grams of heroin concealed inside. The estimated market value of the recovered narcotics is pegged at over Rs 1.87 crore. Following the seizure, the confiscated contraband was handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department in Champhai to facilitate further investigation and ensure necessary legal action.
