Eternal, the parent company overseeing food delivery aggregator Zomato, has shut down its dedicated Customer Delight operations based in Hyderabad as part of a strategic realignment. The operational closure directly impacts approximately 240 employees who managed user support and service assistance for the delivery platform.
Employees Notified Following Internal Restructuring
Personnel attached to the Hyderabad Customer Delight unit were officially informed regarding the discontinuation of operations on August 31. The specialized division comprised over 240 staff members dedicated to resolving user queries, tracking order issues, and handling routine customer service tasks for Zomato. With the complete shutdown of this regional unit, the workforce previously handling these daily support duties stands affected.
Consolidation of Support Services at Gurugram Hub
Following the decision to close the Hyderabad unit, Eternal is centralizing its remaining in-house customer support architecture. The parent company already operates a sizeable customer service setup in Gurugram. As part of the restructuring effort, all internal support functions are being consolidated into the Gurugram center, making it the primary hub for customer assistance operations moving forward.
Strategic Realignment of Support Infrastructure
This operational shift underscores Eternal's broader objective to streamline service management and consolidate core support teams under unified regional oversight. By ending its dedicated in-house support setup in Hyderabad and combining resources at its established Gurugram facility, the company aims to restructure its service delivery framework.
