How to Claim Your Prize
The claim process varies based on the prize amount won. For winnings up to Rs 10,000, the winner can approach the authorised lottery distributor or retailer who originally sold them the ticket and collect the prize directly. For any amount exceeding Rs 10,000, the claim must be formally submitted to the Director, Government of Nagaland State Lotteries, or to the designated Nodal Officer in the winner's respective state.
Documents Required for Prizes Above Rs 10,000
Anyone seeking to claim a prize worth more than Rs 10,000 must prepare the following set of documents before filing.
- The original winning lottery ticket
- A duly filled prize claim form and declaration form
- Self-attested photocopies of PAN and Aadhaar cards
- Passport-size photographs
- Bank account details along with a cancelled cheque
- An affidavit confirming ownership of the winning ticket
Claim Deadline, Payment Timeline and Tax Deductions
All prize claims must be filed within 30 days of the draw date. Once a claim passes verification, the prize amount is generally disbursed within 60 days through RTGS, bank transfer, or demand draft. Winners should also note that TDS and other applicable taxes will be deducted from prize amounts wherever required under the Income Tax Act. Lottery tickets that are damaged or show any sign of tampering will not be accepted for prize claims under any circumstances.
