As per the latest schedule, consumers now have until September 14 to submit their required forms and complete identity checks through their local LPG distributors. Failure to complete this process within the stipulated window could result in temporary service disruptions or force consumers to pay commercial rates for refill cylinders.
Fifth Extension Granted Within Two Months
The push for e-KYC compliance is aimed at weeding out ghost accounts and streamlining fuel subsidies. This latest extension to September 14 represents the fifth time the deadline has been moved within a two-month span. The government had previously set September 7 as the cutoff, but added another one-week extension to accommodate pending applications. Prior to September, the cutoff dates underwent multiple shifts, starting from an initial August 16 deadline, which was subsequently deferred to August 23 and then to August 31. The repeated extensions reflect ongoing efforts to ensure every eligible consumer completes identity validation.
Consequences of Missing the Verification Cutoff
Reports indicate that failing to complete the mandatory e-KYC before September 14 could lead to immediate administrative action on non-compliant accounts. Unverified connections face the risk of temporary suspension, preventing users from placing new refill orders. There is also ongoing speculation that unverified accounts could lose domestic subsidy benefits, making them liable to pay non-subsidized commercial rates for LPG cylinders. While oil marketing companies have not issued complete operational details regarding permanent account status, they have confirmed that Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas customers will experience temporary service impacts until full compliance is registered.
Revised Booking Interval Rules for Rural Refills
Parallel to the e-KYC drive, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has directed oil marketing companies to adjust the refill booking window for rural consumers. Under the revised guidelines, the mandatory waiting interval between two LPG bookings for rural households has been reduced from 45 days to 25 days. Previously, rural customers were required to wait 45 days before booking their next refill cylinder. For urban consumers, the existing 25-day refill interval remains unchanged and continues to operate under standard parameters.
Detailed Structure of the LPG e-KYC Form
Completing the official e-KYC submission requires filling out a structured multi-part application form. The initial section focuses on the primary holder's personal credentials, requiring the first name, middle name, last name, LPG consumer number, date of birth, and close relative details such as father's and mother's names. Applicants must also affix a recent passport-size photograph to this section.
The second section gathers comprehensive residence and contact data. Consumers must detail their flat number, floor number, housing complex or building name, street or road name, city, town, or village, district, nearby landmark, state, and Pin Code. Active contact information, including primary mobile phone numbers, email addresses, and landline details, must also be provided.
Verification Requirements and Receipt Collection
The final section of the form captures identity and address documentation. Customers can validate their details by submitting numbers and copies of their Aadhaar card, PAN card, or ration card. Additionally, a self-declaration attested by a Gazetted Officer is accepted as valid proof of identity or address.
Once all sections are filled out, the hard copy must be submitted directly to the local LPG distributor. Agency staff will cross-check the submitted information and document photocopies against the original identity cards. Upon successful verification, the distributor will approve, date, and sign the document. Customers must ensure they collect the torn-off acknowledgment slip from the bottom of the form. To serve as valid proof of e-KYC submission, this acknowledgment slip must carry the official stamp and signature of the LPG distributor or agency.
