A passenger aboard train number 12903 Golden Temple Mail gave birth to a healthy baby while traveling through the Kota division of West Central Railway on Friday. The prompt actions of the train staff and station authorities ensured immediate medical intervention across transit stops, leaving both mother and child in stable health. The birth occurred as the train traversed the railway stretch between Nagda and Shamgarh stations.
Labor Pains Begin Between Nagda and Shamgarh
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain stated that 28-year-old Nisha Devi was traveling with her husband, Ratan Sahni, from Surat to Mathura. The couple had reserved seat number 31 in the B-5 air-conditioned coach. As the express train passed through the track section between Nagda and Shamgarh, Nisha Devi began experiencing severe labor pains. Recognizing the urgent medical emergency, fellow travelers promptly alerted the on-board railway personnel for immediate assistance.
Prompt Action by On-Duty Ticket Examiners
Ticket examiners K.K. Meena and Balram Meena stepped in without delay to manage the unfolding situation. The two officials informed the central control room and contacted divisional railway medical teams to prepare clinical support. The delivery took place successfully inside the moving coach between Nagda and Shamgarh before the train reached its next major halt. Throughout the journey, the ticket examination staff maintained steady communication to arrange medical teams at Kota and Gangapur City stations.
Emergency Health Assessment at Kota Station
A specialized medical team from the railway hospital was already positioned on the platform as the Golden Temple Mail pulled into Kota station. Attending physicians boarded the coach to carry out a comprehensive primary check-up on both the mother and the newborn child. After the basic health parameters appeared stable and the family agreed, they were cleared to continue their train journey toward their destination. However, further down the track, the mother experienced renewed physical discomfort, leading staff to put the medical unit at Gangapur City on alert.
Transfer to Government Hospital at Gangapur City
Upon arrival at Gangapur City station, Dr. Aslam Ansari from the Sub-Divisional Railway Hospital and Senior Divisional Medical Officer Dr. Satyaveer Doodi met the coach alongside an ambulance team. The doctors administered prompt first-aid treatment and stabilized both patients inside the train. To ensure comprehensive recovery, proper clinical supervision, and continued monitoring, the mother and baby were shifted via ambulance to a local government hospital.
