A major incident was narrowly avoided on Wednesday outside Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, Northwest Delhi. A fierce fire broke out from a gas cylinder attached to a food stall located right next to the hospital's main entrance. The sudden eruption of thick flames caused immediate panic among patients, visiting family members, and pedestrians who were present around the entrance area at the time.
Sudden Panic and Eruption of Flames
According to eyewitnesses, food was being prepared at the cart when the cylinder unexpectedly caught fire. Within moments, the flames intensified rapidly, creating a chaotic stampede-like situation. Because the area near the main gate experiences constant foot traffic, people scrambled in multiple directions to reach safety.

Demonstrating courage during the emergency, local residents and passersby immediately attempted to contain the blaze while contacting the fire department. Fire tenders dispatched to the site arrived quickly and managed to bring the fire under complete control, preventing the flames from reaching nearby structures or the hospital facility.
