Under the Uttar Pradesh government's Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme, the Meerut Development Authority (MDA) has accelerated preparations to establish a master-planned, modern township. Strategically located near the Namo Bharat Corridor and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, this project aims to provide quality living with seamless commuting options for professionals working in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurgaon.
MDA's Major Township Initiative After Two Decades
This initiative represents a significant step for the Meerut Development Authority, which is implementing a large-scale township project after a hiatus of nearly 20 to 25 years. Sprawling across approximately 294 hectares, the project has reached the final stage of land acquisition. Standard regulatory procedures and administrative approvals typically take three to four months; however, MDA officials are expediting these processes to open public applications well ahead of schedule.
Strategic Footprint Across Four Border Villages
To assemble the required land area, four villages situated near Modinagar along the Meerut-Ghaziabad border have been identified: Chhajjupur, Ikla, Kayasth Gawdi, and Mohiuddinpur. Thanks to their location adjacent to the NCRTC corridor and expressway networks, future residents will benefit from rapid transit infrastructure via Namo Bharat trains and direct highway access to central NCR destinations.
Integrated Facilities: Schools, Hospitals, and Markets
Addressing the planned infrastructure, MDA Vice Chairman Sanjay Kumar Meena stated that the township is designed as a self-sustaining residential zone. The layout incorporates educational institutions, healthcare centers, commercial shopping markets, and essential public utilities. This integrated approach ensures that residents will not face civic shortcomings or need to travel long distances for daily healthcare, education, or shopping needs.
Targeted Launch Window Between Deepawali and New Year
The authority is strictly adhering to its timeline to bring the housing scheme to reality. Official planning targets a formal project launch between the festival of Deepawali and the upcoming New Year. Once launched, application guidelines and plot booking details will become accessible to citizens seeking modern urban housing coupled with high-speed transit access across the National Capital Region.
