The seismic activity struck the two nations at distinctly different times. The initial disturbance in India took place late at night around 3:29 AM. Hours later, ground vibrations were observed in Afghanistan at approximately 5:37 AM. Alongside the timing gap, the physical strength and perceptibility of the events varied significantly between the two geographic regions.
Intensity Difference Between Afghanistan and Satara
The tremor felt in Afghanistan was markedly stronger, measuring a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale, making the morning shaking distinctly noticeable to people in the area. In contrast, the event within India was centered in the Satara district of Maharashtra, registering a minor magnitude of 2.4. Owing to this low intensity level, most residents in the region slept through the occurrence without feeling any movement, leaving everyday life undisturbed.
