Old Land Feud Turns Bloody, Indiscriminate Firing Leaves Seven Injured

A long-running land dispute in Murar village under Kaman police station in Deeg district turned violent on Friday, with firing by one side leaving seven men and women injured; five of them in serious condition were referred to Bharatpur.

In Murar village, which falls under the Kaman police station area of Deeg district, a simmering land dispute suddenly took a bloody turn on Friday. The long-standing tension between two groups in the village escalated into a fierce clash when one side opened relentless fire on the other. The sound of gunshots threw the entire village into panic, and frightened residents rushed out of their homes. Within moments, the scene was filled with screams and chaos. Seven men and women were seriously wounded in the incident. Tension gripped the village, and as soon as word spread, police too set off for the spot.

Immediately after the incident, the injured were rushed to hospital without delay, where during initial treatment five of them were found to be in a more critical condition and were referred to Bharatpur. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered in the village. According to villagers, the two sides had been locked in a tussle over land for quite some time, but no one had imagined the matter would escalate to the point of gunfire. Treatment of the injured is still under way and their family members remain present at the hospital.

Gunshots Ring Out Over Land Dispute, Panic Spreads in Village

According to the information available, two groups came face to face over a land matter in Murar village of the Kaman police station area. The dispute deepened so rapidly that one side began firing at the other. The sudden gunfire created an atmosphere of terror across the area, and people began running in every direction to save their lives. A total of seven people were injured in the firing, said to include both women and men. After the incident, villagers immediately arranged to take the injured to hospital, with many rushing them there in private vehicles.

Five Injured in Critical Condition, Referred to Bharatpur

On reaching the hospital, doctors began treating the injured, but five of them were referred to Bharatpur for better treatment as their condition was serious. The remaining injured are being treated locally. Anxiety and worry were clearly visible among the families of those hit by bullets. A large number of villagers and relatives also gathered in the hospital premises. Doctors are keeping a constant watch on the condition of the injured. The distress of the families over those critically wounded has only grown.

Police Reach the Spot, Probe Begins

As soon as they received information about the incident, Kaman police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The police inspected the site and have launched an investigation into the matter. In view of the tension in the village, the police are exercising full caution. Initial information suggests the matter is linked to a land dispute, though police are investigating while keeping all aspects in mind. For now, the police are questioning the people concerned and trying to ascertain the circumstances under which the firing took place. This incident in Murar village has once again shown how old land disputes can suddenly turn into major bloody clashes. For the moment, all eyes in the area remain fixed on the condition of the injured and the police investigation.
