Indian Railways has introduced two new weekly special train services connecting major cities in Uttar Pradesh with Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, to cater to rising passenger demand. East Central Railway has finalized the routes, timetables, and coach configurations for these special services, which will run through key regional transit hubs across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. The designated route includes halts at prominent railway junctions such as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Sasaram, Gaya, Koderma, Parasnath, Gomo, Dhanbad, and Asansol, offering enhanced connectivity for regional travelers.
Kanpur Central to Kolkata Special Train: Detailed Timings and Stops
The weekly service between Kanpur Central and Kolkata, operating under Train No. 04157 (Kanpur-Kolkata Special), will run every Tuesday from July 28 through September 29. The train is scheduled to depart Kanpur Central at 08:00 hrs. Following its departure, the train will reach Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at 14:15 hrs, before making scheduled halts at Sasaram at 15:35 hrs, Gaya at 17:30 hrs, Koderma at 18:45 hrs, Parasnath at 19:45 hrs, Gomo at 20:05 hrs, and Dhanbad at 20:40 hrs. Traversing through these intermediate stations, the service will conclude its journey in Kolkata at 04:05 hrs the following morning.
On the return leg, Train No. 04158 (Kolkata-Kanpur Special) will operate every Wednesday starting July 29 through September 30. Departing from Kolkata at 07:25 hrs, the train will stop at Dhanbad at 12:45 hrs, Gomo at 13:05 hrs, Parasnath at 13:25 hrs, Koderma at 14:15 hrs, Gaya at 15:45 hrs, Sasaram at 17:15 hrs, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at 18:30 hrs. The train will arrive back at Kanpur Central at 01:25 hrs in the early hours of the next day. To accommodate various passenger preferences, this service features 1 Second Class AC coach, 4 Third Class AC coaches, 9 Sleeper Class coaches, and 8 General Class coaches.
Agra Cantt to Kolkata Express: Full Route Schedule and Coach Details
Passengers traveling from western Uttar Pradesh can utilize Train No. 01911 (Agra Cantt-Kolkata Express), scheduled to run every Thursday from July 30 until September 24. Departing Agra Cantt in the early morning hours at 03:40 hrs, the train will arrive at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at 14:15 hrs. It will subsequently halt at Sasaram at 15:35 hrs, Gaya at 17:30 hrs, Koderma at 18:45 hrs, Parasnath at 19:45 hrs, Gomo at 20:05 hrs, and Dhanbad at 20:40 hrs, reaching Kolkata at 04:05 hrs the next morning.
The return service, Train No. 09112 (Kolkata-Agra Cantt Special), will operate every Friday from July 31 through September 25. Departing Kolkata at 07:25 hrs, the train will reach Dhanbad at 12:45 hrs, Gomo at 13:05 hrs, Parasnath at 13:25 hrs, Koderma at 14:15 hrs, Gaya at 15:45 hrs, Sasaram at 17:15 hrs, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at 18:30 hrs, reaching Agra Cantt at 08:00 hrs the following morning.
