In a major push to enhance passenger comfort and offer budget-friendly long-distance travel, Indian Railways has approved the introduction of seven new Amrit Bharat Express trains across various high-demand routes in the country. The decision taken by the Railway Board aims to significantly upgrade rail infrastructure and interstate mobility. These newly sanctioned train services will establish seamless links connecting crucial hubs in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and South India. The Amrit Bharat Express series is specifically tailored to deliver modern onboard amenities and ergonomic travel at ticket prices considerably lower than traditional premium train services.
Dhanbad to Coimbatore Route Linking Jharkhand with South India
Among the newly sanctioned services, the Dhanbad-Coimbatore Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 22363/22364) stands out as a key cross-country corridor linking Jharkhand directly to the industrial hub of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The route encompasses major railway junctions including Gomoh, Parasnath, Koderma, Gaya, Sasaram, Prayagraj, Katni, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Vijayawada, and Tirupati. As per the scheduled movement, the train will depart from Dhanbad every Saturday and commence its return journey from Coimbatore on Tuesdays.
Charlapalli to Gorakhpur Link Strengthening Telangana and UP Connectivity
To cater to the high volume of passenger traffic between southern and northern regions, the Railway Board has cleared the Charlapalli-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 22075/22076). Connecting Telangana with eastern Uttar Pradesh, the train will traverse through Kazipet, Peddapalli, Nagpur, Bhopal, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Gonda. The outbound service from Charlapalli will operate on Fridays, while the return service from Gorakhpur will run every Sunday.
Three Dedicated Services to Streamline Travel Between UP and Mumbai
Addressing the persistent demand on routes heading toward Mumbai, three separate Amrit Bharat Express services have been allocated to Uttar Pradesh. The Gorakhpur-Bandra Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 15085/15086) will travel via Kanpur, Agra, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali, operating from Gorakhpur on Fridays and Bandra on Saturdays.
For the Prayagraj region, the Subedarganj-Lokmanya Tilak Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 14121/14122) will run via Fatehpur, Kanpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusawal, Nashik Road, Kalyan, and Thane. Additionally, a second service, the Prayagraj-Lokmanya Tilak Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 20436/20435), will offer a faster option with limited halts via Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Bhusawal, and Kalyan, departing Prayagraj on Fridays and Lokmanya Tilak on Saturdays.
New Rail Links to Delhi and Gujarat Industrial Belts
Passengers traveling between eastern Uttar Pradesh and the national capital will benefit from the Gorakhpur-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 15095/15096). This weekly train will make stops at key stations including Basti, Gonda, Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad. Meanwhile, the Prayagraj-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 20437/20438) will link central UP to Gujarat, routed through Fatehpur, Kanpur, Etawah, Agra, Bharatpur, Kota, Ratlam, and Vadodara before reaching Udhna, serving passengers across four major states.
Official Inauguration and Timetable Release Pending
While the routes, train numbers, and primary stoppages for all seven Amrit Bharat Express trains have been finalized by the Railway Board, commercial operations have not yet commenced. Railway officials stated that the formal launch dates, inaugural runs, and finalized ticket booking schedules will be announced shortly.
