Defence Minister Rajnath Singh shared on social media platform X that he will participate in a major cultural event in Kochi, Kerala on 18 September. The minister will serve as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day conclave titled 'Ramayana- One Epic Many Stories: Ram Katha across Bharat & beyond', organised by Janmabhumi.
Conclave Focus and Purpose
The conference centres on diverse interpretations of the Ramayana and its spread beyond the Indian subcontinent. Over three days, scholars, artists and cultural experts will discuss various dimensions of the Ram Katha. Janmabhumi, the organising body, is known for promoting Indian cultural heritage.
Defence Programme in Bengaluru
Following the Kochi event, the Defence Minister will travel to Karnataka's capital Bengaluru in the evening to attend the handover ceremony for the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Final Operational Clearance (FOC). This ceremony marks a significant milestone in the Indian Air Force's indigenous capabilities. The Tejas is India's first indigenous fourth-generation fighter aircraft, developed by HAL.
