The celebrated celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan is gearing up for its final curtain call. The upcoming ninth season of the program will mark its absolute end, and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to kick things off as the very first guest on the premiere episode. It has been confirmed that the popular actor will appear for the final season's opening segment. The new season is scheduled to premiere on October 14 on JioHotstar, generating massive anticipation among fans. A recently released promo video on Monday featured host Karan Johar and Salman Khan sharing the screen once again. This announcement marks the beginning of the end for the long-running celebrity talk show as season 9 is being billed as its final chapter.
Salman Khan and Karan Johar Share Chemistry in the New Promo
In the newly released promo, filmmaker Karan Johar remarks in a lighthearted tone that this season could head in any possible direction. Salman immediately replies that it certainly can and that the show has completely gone off the rails. Furthermore, Salman promised that the wait for the new episodes will be well worth it. The caption accompanying the social media post read that it is time for one last time of Koffee With with that one and only brother. This appearance by Salman comes at a time when Karan Johar is preparing to wrap up his long-running celebrity chat show permanently.
A Look Back at Past Appearances and Guest Lineup Speculations
The Bollywood superstar was last seen on Koffee With Karan back in 2016 during season 5, sharing the couch with his brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan. That particular installment served as the 100th episode of the show and revisited their much-discussed debut appearance from season 4. During that episode, the three brothers shared fascinating childhood stories and talked about how they used to share clothes while growing up. However, the names of the remaining stars joining the upcoming season have not been officially confirmed yet. In another teaser released for the forthcoming season, the filmmaker and host can be seen taking a phone call and speaking directly to the camera to declare that the show is coming to an end forever.
Clearing the Air on Rumours Regarding Cricketers
In the video, Karan Johar addresses the audience by stating that they heard it right and this is indeed his final season of the chat show. He clarifies that he is neither acting nor pretending, and that this is genuinely his last season. When a caller suggests to him that the show should have ended a decade ago, he responds by thanking them for asking and noting that he did not invite them for eight seasons, so he has no plans to invite them for the ninth season either. Karan also addressed the rampant speculation surrounding the guest list for the new season. He firmly stated that cricketers have not been invited and are not making an appearance on the show. Concluding his remarks in a playful manner, he asked why he would do anything controversial during his very last season.
