Security arrangements in the northwestern border region of Pakistan's Bannu district collapsed on Saturday following twin roadside bomb attacks. The consecutive explosions claimed at least 7 lives and left several others injured. A Premeditated Double-Tap Strike
According to security personnel, the tragedy began when a passenger-laden van was passing through the area. A roadside bomb went off with massive force, destroying the vehicle. This initial explosion immediately killed 5 passengers and left 3 others fighting for their lives with critical injuries.
As soon as the blast occurred, local civilians and passersby rushed to the scene to assist. While they were actively pulling victims out of the wreckage and carrying them toward waiting ambulances, the attackers struck again. Utilizing a remote-controlled device, they triggered a second bomb at the exact same location. This targeted secondary blast killed 2 of the rescue volunteers on the spot.
