In a surprising political development, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi openly showered praise on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a public event. Known for his frequent criticisms of Congress leaders, Owaisi's appreciative remarks caught many by attention. In response, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has previously lauded the Owaisi brothers as ardent patriots. The event, which marked the inauguration of a flyover in Hyderabad, brought both leaders together on the same stage alongside other prominent Congress leaders, setting the stage for a notable display of political bonhomie.
A Shared Stage and Unexpected Praise
During the flyover inauguration ceremony, Asaduddin Owaisi addressed the gathering and acknowledged his complex political stance. He openly stated that while it is true he opposes the Congress party, it is equally true that he considers Revanth Reddy a visionary leader. Owaisi commended the aggressive and dedicated manner in which Revanth Reddy is driving developmental initiatives across Telangana, pointing out that his leadership style has been notably proactive since taking office.
Looking Back at Past Political Equations
Expanding on his past assessments, Owaisi recalled the assembly elections when his party was in an alliance with the BRS. He revealed that he had told K. Chandrashekar Rao back then that Revanth Reddy was a leader capable of completely altering political equations. Offering a piece of advice from the stage, Owaisi remarked that the Chief Minister has become a bit too polite after assuming office and suggested that he should adopt a slightly more aggressive approach in his political endeavors.
Support Strictly for the Chief Minister, Not the Party
Both leaders used the platform to appreciate each other and reaffirm their working relationship. Owaisi made it crystal clear that in Telangana, his support is extended to Revanth Reddy personally rather than the Congress party itself. He also shared that even when he was campaigning against Congress during the BRS alliance, he used to praise Revanth Reddy's political acumen during internal party meetings.
External Opinions Do Not Matter Locally
Owaisi emphasized that he remains unconcerned about what people outside Telangana say about him, reiterating that within the state, he stood with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and will continue to do so. Highlighting their mutual respect, Revanth Reddy has also previously praised Asaduddin Owaisi for consistently raising the voices of citizens from across the country inside the Parliament.
