Kerala Assembly opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan extended his congratulations to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on October 26 following his historic victory securing a fourth term as the president of Brazil. He stated that Lula's remarkable win strongly reaffirms the continued relevance of leftist politics in the modern era. In a post shared on the social media platform X, Vijayan emphasized that the continuous electoral success of Lula da Silva clearly proves that the working class can play a vital and decisive role in shaping its own future.
The Necessity of Social Justice and Equality
Expanding on his viewpoint, the prominent Marxist leader noted that the political lesson extending from Brazil all the way to India remains crystal clear. He argued that effectively countering right-wing politics requires establishing a viable alternative system firmly rooted in labor rights, social justice, and absolute equality. Vijayan further asserted that Lula's triumph reinvigorates the ongoing struggle against what he termed the divisive politics of the Sangh Parivar, thereby reinforcing hopes for building a much more just and democratic nation.
