Initially, he could not fathom why he was being summoned. However, upon arriving at the state office, he was officially informed of his selection as the party's candidate for the Bankipur assembly seat. Following the announcement, he received a warm welcome at the party office, where fellow workers celebrated his new role.

Expressing his reaction after the announcement, Neeraj Kumar Sinha was visibly emotional. He admitted that he had never even dreamt that the party would entrust a common worker like him with the candidacy for such a prestigious seat like Bankipur.
