A massive political storm has erupted across the nation following controversial remarks made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding the father of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public event in the Bihar capital of Patna. Amidst the escalating war of words, a newly released public opinion survey has compounded troubles for the opposition party. According to a telephonic survey conducted among five thousand respondents by Matrize News Communications, a decisive majority of the country's population views the statement as contrary to constitutional propriety and reflective of deep-seated frustration within the principal opposition camp.
Public Sentiment and Survey Findings on Dignity and Values
The survey, carried out between October 25 and 27, indicates that nearly 68 percent of participants hold the clear view that dragging the deceased father of an incumbent prime minister into political discourse and making unseemly comments severely undermines the dignity of the highest office. Furthermore, 72 percent of respondents asserted that the remarks run completely counter to traditional Indian life values and cultural heritage, which traditionally emphasize profound reverence for departed ancestors and elders. Concurrently, 54 percent of the surveyed public described this personal attack as a manifestation of ideological bankruptcy and electoral despair within the Congress party.
BJP Leaders Mount Aggressive Protests Across the Country
Maharashtra BJP Women's Wing State President Chitra Kishor Wagh cited the Matrize survey data to allege that 68 percent of citizens consider the remarks an insult to both the Prime Minister's office and Indian ethos. Wagh argued that instead of debating policy matters, the persistent reliance on personal attacks by Congress leaders highlights their ideological desperation, adding that the 140 crore citizens of India will never tolerate disrespect toward the constitution and national pride. Following the emergence of these remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched an aggressive offensive against the Congress party and its top leadership.
In New Delhi, BJP workers marched toward the residence of Kharge, demanding an unconditional apology from the party to the nation. Meanwhile, in Patna, the party organized a mass public anger march under the leadership of State President Sanjay Sarawagi, burning effigies of Kharge to register their strong disapproval. Party leaders argued that using the sacred platform of the birth anniversary of Bihar's architect, Shri Krishna Singh, to pass petty remarks against the Prime Minister's father is deeply unfortunate.
Spread of Demonstrations from Lucknow to Mumbai
Protests have intensified from Lucknow to Mumbai, with BJP units across multiple cities denouncing the incident as a direct affront to the sentiments of 140 crore countrymen. The political fallout continues to widen as ruling party functionaries maintain pressure on the opposition, demanding accountability for statements targeting family members in political discourse while opposition leaders defend their political stance amidst growing public scrutiny.
