A shocking case has emerged from Mansa in Punjab, where a woman and her three minor children were found dead inside a rented house in Ward No. 3. According to initial information, the woman allegedly killed her three children before hanging herself. Police reached the spot, took all four bodies into custody, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
Husband had died four years ago
The woman's husband had passed away around four years earlier. Since then, she had been living with her mother-in-law and her three children in the rented house. The children who died include two daughters and a one-and-a-half-year-old son. The incident has left the entire neighbourhood in Ward No. 3 in a state of shock and mourning.
Children may have been poisoned before being strangled
As soon as news of the deaths broke, police from City-2 police station reached the spot and took all four bodies into custody, sending them for post-mortem examination. In their initial assessment, police suspect the children were first made to consume some poisonous substance and were then strangled to death, after which the woman hanged herself. Police have said the exact cause of death will only be confirmed once the post-mortem and forensic reports are available.
Police probing case from every angle
Investigating officer Kulwant Singh said police are examining every aspect of the case seriously. Family members and people living in the neighbourhood are being questioned, and evidence collected from the scene has also been included in the investigation. Police said the real reason behind the deaths will only become clear once the investigation is complete. For now, the cause behind this tragic incident remains unclear, and police are probing the matter from every angle based on the post-mortem report, forensic examination and other evidence.
