Located at Sanganeri Chauraha in the city of Bhilwara, the Shri Dudhadhari Ji Gopal Temple emerges as a prominent focal point during the festival of Janmashtami. Belonging to the Nimbark sect, this sacred temple is believed to be approximately 474 years old. Established in Vikram Samvat 1609, its current architectural form has been meticulously designed on the lines of the renowned Prem Mandir in Vrindavan. The Miraculous Origin of the Dudhadhari Name

It is said that in ancient times, Thakurji Maharaj miraculously consumed milk directly in front of a devoted saint and his disciple. Historical Struggles and Preservation
The history of this ancient temple is marked by periods of struggle. According to tradition, during the Mughal era when numerous temples across the region were being targeted and damaged, the priest of the time safely concealed the idols of Thakurji inside a small secret chamber within the temple premises. That historical hiding spot still exists inside the complex today. As centuries passed, the older structure deteriorated significantly, to the point where wooden pillars had to be used to support the failing roof.
Creating Vrindavan on Mewar Soil
Following the decline of the old structure, the Guru Maharaj of the Nimbark sect resolved that devotees on the soil of Mewar should experience the spiritual ambiance of Vrindavan locally. Driven by this vision, the grand and modern avatar of the temple was constructed, drawing heavy inspiration from the architectural style of Prem Mandir. Today, the Shri Dudhadhari Temple serves not only as a spiritual sanctuary but also stands as a distinct cultural landmark of Bhilwara due to its remarkable architecture, offering devotees the essence of Brajbhoomi during Janmashtami.
