A devastating road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa district, Rajasthan, claimed six lives and left seventeen people injured. The crash occurred near Dwarpura village under Kolawa police station when a passenger bus traveling from Haridwar to Indore collided head-on with a truck. The force of the impact was so intense that the bus immediately caught fire, throwing the entire area into chaos.
Fire Engulfs Bus Carrying 39 Passengers
The bus had 39 passengers on board at the time of the crash. The fire that erupted after the collision left several passengers with serious burn injuries. While some managed to escape the burning vehicle on their own, many others remained trapped inside and had to be pulled to safety by local residents who rushed to help, along with relief teams that reached the spot shortly after. Most of the passengers on the bus are reported to have been residents of Madhya Pradesh.
Green Corridor Speeds Injured to Dausa District Hospital
Police, fire brigade units, and medical teams arrived at the accident site as soon as they received news of the crash. To get the injured to hospital as quickly as possible, a green corridor was established for ambulances. This allowed emergency vehicles to travel uninterrupted from the crash site directly to Dausa District Hospital, where the injured were admitted for treatment without any delay.
Expressway Traffic Halted as Investigation Gets Underway
The accident brought traffic on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to a standstill for a considerable period. Police at the scene diverted vehicles onto alternate routes to clear the way for rescue and relief operations. An investigation into the cause of the accident has now been launched. The district administration is simultaneously working to identify those who lost their lives in the crash and to inform their families at the earliest opportunity.
