The arrested accused, Khetaram Bishnoi, carried a cash reward of Rs 20,000 on his head and was wanted in multiple grave cases, including launching a fatal assault on a police team during a vehicle checkpoint interception.
The events date back approximately two and a half years, when police in the Nikumbh police station jurisdiction of Chittorgarh set up a strategic barricade to check vehicles. During this operation, Khetaram Bishnoi managed to slip past the officers and fled the scene. Ever since this sensational incident, law enforcement agencies launched continuous efforts to track him down, but the cunning smuggler consistently evaded capture by frequently shifting his locations and outsmarting officers. Due to his prolonged elusiveness, the district police administration had announced a cash reward of Rs 20,000 for information leading to his arrest.
Previous Police Encounter in Pali and Months of Surveillance
Police interrogation and analysis of his criminal background revealed that the fugitive operates a remarkably wide syndicate. Roughly six to seven months ago, a direct armed confrontation took place between the notorious smuggler and police personnel within the jurisdiction of the Rani police station in Pali district. During that incident as well, the suspect managed to escape the police grip while firing rounds at officers. Following the shootout in Pali, specialized intelligence units and police forces across various districts of Rajasthan kept a close watch on his every movement.

Ultimately, acting under strict directives from the Chittorgarh Superintendent of Police, a dedicated special police squad was assembled. Leveraging advanced cyber technological assistance alongside credible intelligence provided by confidential informants, the team executed a precise encirclement and successfully pinned down the wanted fugitive Khetaram Bishnoi. At present, the Nikumbh police station personnel are subjecting the arrested accused to rigorous questioning.
