The protest demonstration staged by Congress leaders and workers outside the police commissionerate in Jaipur has intensified significantly. The sit-in, launched to demand the registration of an FIR in the Ritu Barala case, continues unabated even after crossing the twelve-hour mark. Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Juli, along with several senior party leaders and a large number of workers, remains present at the protest site. Despite the prolonged duration of the sit-in, the police administration has not initiated any formal dialogue or attempt at consensus so far, generating deep resentment among the participants.
Traffic Disruption and Police Intervention
The situation turned tense during the demonstration when agitated Congress workers attempted to block the main road outside the commissionerate. Raising slogans, protesters moved to the middle of the road, disrupting local traffic movement. The police administration immediately stepped in, used persuasion, and pushed the protesters back from the roadway. Amidst continuous aggressive sloganeering right outside the commissionerate, conditions remain ripe for potential friction between law enforcement and the protesters.
Clashes Over Youth Congress Tent
A major uproar erupted outside the Jaipur Police Commissionerate after Youth Congress workers attempted to pitch a tent at the spot. Police used force to remove the structure from the site, triggering intense shoving matches and a confrontational standoff between security personnel and workers. Angered by the removal of their shelter, the youth wings raised vociferous slogans against the government and the police. Observing the escalating tension at the location, additional police reinforcements have been deployed while Congress members remain firm on their demand for an FIR.
Direct Sloganeering Against the Government
All Congress leaders gathered at the venue are unitedly raising slogans against both the police administration and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state. Senior party leaders are stationed inside the commissionerate building, while hundreds of workers outside continue to register their protest through loud chants. Congress leadership maintains a clear stand that their agitation and sit-in will not be called off until a fair FIR is registered regarding the Ritu Barala matter.
Jodhpur to Pachpadra Four-Lane Highway
Meanwhile, in infrastructure updates, travel between Jodhpur and Pachpadra is set to become smoother with an 87-kilometer-long four-lane highway being constructed at a cost of 2130 crore rupees.
Tight Security Arrangements and Heavy Deployment
Considering the seriousness of the protest and the steadily growing crowds, the police administration remains on high alert. To maintain law, order, and public peace, extra security personnel have been deployed outside the commissionerate. Senior police officers are stationed on the ground to monitor the situation closely. Barricading has been put up along the commissionerate premises and surrounding routes to prevent things from slipping out of control.
