A 50-member delegation from Rajasthan has commenced a cultural and educational journey to Sikkim from the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. The departure was marked by an official flag-off ceremony held on October 8, 2026, as part of the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' initiative's Yuva Sangam Phase 7. This journey aims to foster national integration and promote cultural appreciation.
Inauguration of the Journey
The delegation, comprising fifty young individuals selected from various districts across Rajasthan, is accompanied by five officials on this tour. IIT Jodhpur Deputy Director Professor Bhabani K. Satpathy and Dean of Students Dr. Rajlakshmi Chouhan officially flagged off the group, wishing them a successful and enriching journey as they embark on this unique national integration tour.
Objectives of Yuva Sangam
The primary goal of this tour is to expose the youth to the rich cultural diversity, local traditions, and developmental progress of different regions, thereby strengthening national integration. During their stay in Sikkim, the delegates will engage directly with local residents, learning about their lifestyle, cultural heritage, technological advancements, tourism potential, and ongoing developmental projects.
Mutual Sharing of Heritage
This exchange program acts as a two-way street for cultural dialogue. While exploring the northeastern state, the youth from Rajasthan will also introduce the people of Sikkim to their own vibrant folk culture, historical heritage, traditional cuisine, and local customs. This collaborative effort under the Yuva Sangam framework represents a meaningful stride toward fostering bilateral dialogue, mutual cooperation, and lasting friendship between the two states, highlighting the essence of unity in diversity.
