A deep wave of spiritual fervor swept through the renowned Krishna pilgrimage destination of Charbhuja Gadbor in the Rajsamand district on the sacred occasion of Dev-Pitri Shraddh Amavasya. From early dawn, lines of pilgrims began assembling outside the sanctum sanctorum to catch a glimpse of the deity reverently addressed across the region as Mewar ke Dhani. Pilgrims journeyed from several parts of Rajasthan as well as adjoining provinces, filling the temple premises with sacred chants throughout the day.
Vibrant Floral Displays Adorn the Sanctum
In honor of the auspicious day, the temple committee and attendants decorated the entire structure with vibrant, fragrant flowers of varied hues. The central altar stood out as a resplendent centerpiece amid the intricate floral garlands and ornamental patterns. Devotees waited patiently in queues to offer homage before the sanctum, praying for prosperity, household well-being, and family peace.
Splendid Attire and Traditional Mewari Headgear
Ceremonial rituals commenced with the prescribed holy bath and meditation proceedings conducted according to temple traditions. Following the purificatory rites, the deity was adorned in specially crafted ceremonial garments. The sacred adornment featured traditional weaponry, the radiant Vaijayanti garland, and the iconic Mewari pag, a royal turban emblematic of regional heritage. The majestic appearance captivated the gathering, creating an atmosphere of shared reverence and joy.
Offering of Lapsi and Assorted Delicacies
Under the established temple custom where the responsibilities of the head priest rotate every month, the newly assigned priest family prepared and offered a grand pot of lapsi as the core sacred meal. After the ritual dedication, the food was distributed among the gathered worshippers. Individual devotees also brought forth offerings reflecting personal devotion, presenting dishes like water chestnut sev, mawa sweets, kasar, and assorted fresh fruits to seek divine blessings.
Mehsana Pilgrim Association Hosts Community Feast
Facilitating arrangements for the massive gathering, the Charbhuja Amavasya Sangh arriving from Mehsana stepped forward with extensive community service. Alongside presenting their ceremonial offering to the sanctum, the collective arranged a comprehensive free meal service for visiting pilgrims. This initiative provided substantial relief to travelers who had journeyed across long distances to reach the holy site. The day-long observances reiterated the enduring cultural and devotional standing of the ancient shrine.
