Panic gripped residents of the Katori Wala Tibare locality in Alwar, Rajasthan, after a venomous black cobra unexpectedly slithered into an occupied household. The sight of the lethal reptile inside the living quarters triggered immediate commotion, sending terrified family members scrambling to safety. Realising the grave danger posed by the venomous intruder, the household promptly alerted a dedicated wildlife rescue team for emergency intervention.
Before the trained handlers could arrive at the scene, the situation escalated when the black cobra crawled out of the indoor rooms and ventured toward the open yard. A domestic dog stationed nearby immediately spotted the advancing predator. Rather than retreating, the canine charged straight toward the serpent to mount an impromptu defence, positioning itself directly in the cobra's path.
High-Stakes Standoff Captured on Video
What followed was an intense, high-stakes standoff between the two animals in the open compound. Raising its hood high in a defensive posture, the cobra attempted repeatedly to intimidate the animal and force a retreat. Unfazed by the deadly threat, the dog stood its ground firmly, barking aggressively and refusing to yield any ground. Onlookers and neighbours assembled at a safe distance documented the dramatic face-off on video, capturing clear footage of the tense confrontation unfolding in real time.
Rescue Team Intervenes to Relocate Reptile
During the ongoing duel, the snake rescue unit reached the premises and took control of the perilous scene. Exercising extreme caution, the handlers first separated the dog from the cobra to prevent any potential venomous strike. The team then deployed specialised capture gear to secure the black cobra safely without causing harm to the reptile or bystanders.
Shivam Chauhan, representing the rescue organisation Gujaarish Ek Pahal, stated that the captured cobra was transported well away from human settlements and released safely into dense forest terrain. With the dangerous snake removed, the relieved family and neighbourhood residents breathed easy. No injuries to humans or animals were reported throughout the episode, while video recordings of the confrontation quickly became a major talking point across the district.
