To pull the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation out of persistent financial losses and curb corruption within the department, the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance approach. In line with this strategy, the roadways flying squad in Jhunjhunu district executed a major operation. During a surprise inspection of a Rajasthan Roadways bus traveling from Sadulpur toward Jaipur, seven passengers were caught traveling without valid tickets. Taking serious note of this severe lapse, the depot management took strict action, and an official FIR was registered against the on-duty civil defense conductor at the Malsisar police station. This sudden crackdown caused a major stir among the roadways department and its employees.
Surprise inspection conducted on the bus
According to available details, a bus belonging to the Jhunjhunu roadways depot had departed from Sadulpur for the capital city of Jaipur on its scheduled route. When the vehicle reached near Malsisar, a specially deployed flying squad from the Jhunjhunu depot intercepted the bus for verification. The flying squad was personally led by Jhunjhunu Depot Chief Manager Giriraj Swami. Other key members accompanying the team included officiating traffic manager Ajay Kumar and assistant Sandesh Nehra. The team boarded the vehicle and began a thorough and meticulous verification of tickets for every single passenger.
Seven ticketless passengers found and conductor lapses exposed
During the ticket verification process, flying squad officials were left astonished when a total of seven passengers traveling onboard were found without any valid travel tickets. Civil Defense Conductor Kishan Kumar Ola was performing his duties on the bus at that time. Finding seven passengers traveling without tickets simultaneously pointed directly toward a major lapse and gross malpractice by the conductor. Officials immediately reprimanded conductor Kishan Kumar Ola on the spot and strongly objected to his work methodology.
Depot management takes strict action and dispatches alternative conductor
Following the confirmation of ticketless passengers, the Jhunjhunu depot management initiated immediate departmental action against civil defense conductor Kishan Kumar Ola. As a first step, a remark was officially recorded on the conductor's duty card. Furthermore, to ensure that the remaining passengers reached their destination safely and without any inconvenience, another conductor was immediately dispatched from the Jhunjhunu headquarters to the bus. Only after this arrangement was completed, the bus was cleared to proceed further toward Jaipur.
Case registered at Malsisar police station and police probe underway
Apart from departmental disciplinary action, the roadways administration also took a legal route. Flying squad officials submitted a formal written complaint against civil defense conductor Kishan Kumar Ola at the Malsisar police station. The complaint explicitly stated that by facilitating travel for ticketless passengers, the conductor had deliberately inflicted financial losses upon the roadways corporation. Based on this formal complaint, the police registered a case and initiated further legal investigations. Chief Manager Giriraj Swami stated that revenue losses incurred by the depot will not be tolerated under any circumstances and such surprise inspections will continue unabated in the future.
Intensive campaign launched to curb revenue leakage
The Rajasthan Roadways administration is currently running an intensive statewide campaign to curb revenue leakage. It is often observed that due to collusion involving certain conductors, passengers travel without tickets, which directly impacts the treasury of the corporation. To clamp down on such practices, flying teams have been constituted under strict directives from senior authorities. These teams make surprise visits across different routes at irregular intervals to check buses. The operation conducted on the Sadulpur to Jaipur route is a vital component of this ongoing campaign. The Chief Manager made it clear that if any employee is found working against the interests of the corporation, strict action will follow.
