Security agencies along the international border in Sri Ganganagar successfully thwarted a malicious smuggling plot originating from Pakistan through the joint efforts of vigilant security personnel and local residents. Operating under ongoing narco-terrorism agendas, Pakistani drug traffickers attempted to smuggle a massive consignment of narcotics across the Indian border using a drone. However, the coordinated response between watchful border guards and aware villagers ensured the plan failed, delivering a severe blow to the active drug syndicate operating across the border.
Operation Launched in 14 KND Village of Rawla Sector
The entire incident unfolded near 14 KND village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Rawla police station in Sri Ganganagar district. Late in the night, local villagers near the international border noticed suspicious drone movements and unusual activity in the sky. Demonstrating remarkable alertness, the residents immediately reported the movement to local security authorities without wasting any time. Upon receiving the tip-off, the Border Security Force (BSF), local police, and intelligence units swung into action, cordoning off the entire area and launching an extensive joint search operation through the night.
Recovery of 5.6 Kilograms of Heroin and Opium
Following the rigorous overnight search operation, security forces achieved a major breakthrough by morning. While combing through fields situated close to the international border, officials discovered several unattended suspicious packages lying on the ground. Upon careful inspection and opening of the parcels, authorities found them packed with illegal narcotics. According to initial weight measurements, the operation yielded approximately 5 kilograms and 600 grams of high-grade heroin alongside nearly 500 grams of opium. The international market value of the confiscated contraband is estimated to be worth several crores of rupees.

After securing the substantial haul of narcotics, security agencies took complete possession of the recovered items and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Police and intelligence units are currently probing which local smugglers or sleeper cells within the Indian territory were intended to receive this massive delivery.
