Panic gripped Kukas village near Jaipur on Wednesday after a man and a woman plunged into an abandoned 90-foot-deep dry well. As news of the incident spread across the locality, concerned villagers rushed to the spot in large numbers, finding themselves helpless due to the immense depth of the pit. Recognising the severe peril inside the deep cavity, residents immediately contacted the local police authorities to organise an urgent emergency response.
Two Rescuers Trapped While Attempting Immediate Help
Before specialised disaster response teams could arrive, two local youths stepped forward to assist the fallen man and woman. The two volunteers descended into the darkness of the 90-foot shaft hoping to pull the victims to safety, but the extreme depth and steep walls quickly worked against them. Lacking proper safety gear and climbing apparatus, both youths found themselves completely stranded at the bottom alongside the original victims, compounding the crisis and intensifying panic among the gathering crowd.
