A targeted crackdown on illegal narcotics networks in Hanumangarh district led to a significant breakthrough when law enforcement intercepted a major consignment of illicit drugs. Officers from the Gogamedi police station intercepted a car carrying a married couple and an accomplice, uncovering a substantial commercial haul. The sudden interception and recovery have disrupted local contraband distribution channels and triggered panic among illicit suppliers across the district.
Joint Operation Based on Intelligence Involving DST Nohar
The operation was executed following actionable intelligence regarding the movement of contraband through the area. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Arvind Bishnoi, the operation succeeded through seamless coordination between personnel from the Gogamedi police station and the District Special Team (DST) from Nohar. Acting swiftly on the confidential tip-off, the joint team cordoned off the route and intercepted the suspect vehicle. A meticulous physical search of the automobile immediately exposed the hidden consignment of banned narcotics.
Heroin Consignment Valued at 60 Lakh Rupees Impounded
During the detailed vehicle inspection, officers confiscated a total of 283 grams of heroin, commonly known in the region as chitta. In illegal international drug distribution channels, the seized contraband carries an estimated market value of roughly 60 lakh rupees. Recovering such an extensive volume points toward organized distribution rather than isolated retail consumption, showing that the suspects intended to pump this lethal substance into local communities. Alongside the narcotics, law enforcement confiscated the automobile used to transport the contraband.
Married Couple and Accomplice Taken into Custody
All three occupants inside the intercepted vehicle were arrested on the spot. Authorities identified the suspects as Manjeet, his wife Neha, and a third associate named Roshan. The direct involvement of a husband and wife in organized narcotic trafficking drew widespread attention in the area. Officers highlighted that the coordinated strategy between the Gogamedi police team and the Nohar DST prevented any opportunity for the suspects to evade capture.
Investigation Expands to Trace Supply Routes and Handlers
The Gogamedi police station is subjecting Manjeet, Neha, and Roshan to detailed custodial interrogation. Investigators are currently tracing the upstream procurement source of the 60 lakh rupee consignment while identifying the exact delivery points within Hanumangarh and neighboring areas where it was scheduled for retail dispatch. Senior police officials affirmed that the strict enforcement drive targeting drug smuggling across the entire district will continue unabated.
