A high-voltage dispute broke out at Dausa railway station between traveling security personnel and on-duty railway ticket examining staff over traveling on an invalid train ticket. Six Rajasthan Police personnel were escorting an accused individual to produce him before the local court in Dausa. During the journey, an argument erupted over ticketing regulations involving the CTI, TTE, RPF personnel, and the escorting police team. In the wake of the incident, the North Western Railway Employees Union has formally demanded an inquiry into the matter.
Missed Connection Led Cops to Board Alternate Train
According to available details, a team of six Rajasthan Police personnel was heading toward Dausa with an accused person in their custody. The police officers held valid third AC tickets for the Bhuj Bareilly train, which was their originally scheduled transport to complete the court escort. However, owing to unforeseen circumstances, the team missed the Bhuj Bareilly train at the departure station. Facing strict time constraints to deliver the accused to court, the personnel boarded the Shalimar Malani Express along with the prisoner, despite lacking separate valid tickets for that particular service.
Friction Ignites Over Issuance of Without-Ticket Receipt
While the Shalimar Malani Express was in transit, the ticket checking squad conducted routine ticket verifications across the compartments. When inspectors requested travel authorisations, the police personnel presented tickets belonging to the previously missed train. Because those passes were not valid for the Shalimar Malani Express, the rail staff began the standard protocol to issue a penalty receipt for travel without an authorized ticket. This triggered a heated dispute involving CTI Alok Nimesh, traveling ticket examiners, and the police team. The police maintained that they had already purchased third AC tickets and were forced to board this alternate train purely out of operational necessity.
Confrontation Intensifies Over Official Memo at Dausa Junction
The discord reached another boiling point once the train pulled into Dausa junction. The railway staff issued a formal memo documenting the ticketless travel. Allegations surfaced that the RPF in-charge discarded the memo, sparking another round of tense confrontation between the police squad and railway employees. The police reiterated that this was not private transit but an official assignment to present an accused before the Dausa court, arguing that their possession of third AC tickets on the missed service demonstrated good faith.
Provocative Remarks by RPF Personnel Exacerbate Tensions
The verbal duel escalated further due to contentious comments made by an RPF head constable stationed on board the train. The head constable argued that missing a train did not entitle personnel to board any service without valid clearance, suggesting they should have hired a private vehicle instead. The RPF personnel remarked, “ट्रेन छूट गई तो निजी वाहन करके जाते, ऐसे तो आप कहोगे कि मुलजिम पेश करने जा रहे हैं हेली जहाज से भेजो.” Adding to the tension, the same on-duty RPF staff member retorted, “ऐसे तो घरवाली किसी दूसरे की लेकर चल दोगे क्या.” Such barbed analogies infuriated the escort team and amplified the commotion.
Railway Employees Union Demands Official Probe
Following the altercation, the North Western Railway Employees Union stepped forward to demand an impartial administrative probe. The union insisted on a thorough inquiry to determine the exact circumstances that led to the ticketing dispute inside the train and to establish what transpired with the official memo handed over at Dausa junction. The incident highlights the sharp friction between strict railway ticketing protocols and the procedural exigencies faced by police escorts in transit.
