He began gathering pieces representing diverse artistic traditions, including paintings, sculptures, handicrafts, and fine artisan works. Over the decades, the collection has grown so extensively that visitors often require months to examine every single artifact and detail housed within the expansive hall.
A Treasure Trove of Century-Old Artifacts
Sarwan Kumar notes that while the gallery holds countless items dating back centuries, these pieces are preserved out of personal passion rather than for commercial sale. The extensive inventory features coins dating back 100 to 150 years, antique badges, vintage tin boxes, old utensils, ancient manuscripts, faded photographs, lanterns, traditional umbrellas, vintage bedsheets, bags, shawls, scarves, puppets, historical tents, weapons, decorative items, and rare photographs. The collection also includes portraits of royalty alongside famous artists from India and around the world. Kumar states that his gallery holds unique pieces that visitors may not find in any mainstream Indian museum, with a special emphasis on the folk culture and artistic traditions of Rajasthan.
