Residents report that water levels have risen up to waist-deep in several pockets, while neighboring hamlets like Chainpurwa are also caught in the crisis. Families are deeply anxious about the safety of their homes, stored food grains, and livestock. With the gauge climbing steadily by roughly one centimeter every two hours, communities living in low-lying terrain fear that connecting roads could soon submerge entirely.

The vast expanse of water stretching from the Ganga barrage down to Shuklaगंज resembles a sprawling sea, characterized by fierce currents and massive volume. Massive Discharge Through Thirty Open Barrage Gates
Lower Ganga Canal Executive Engineer Mahendra Kumar stated that a discharge exceeding four लाख क्यूसेक of water is currently being released from the barrage. All thirty gates of the structure have been lifted to manage the massive influx. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Anubhav Singh noted that tractors have been deployed in Baniapurwa to assist residents stranded in inundated zones, with contingency evacuation plans ready if the river swells further.
